We are looking for a Specialist for International Procurement/Tendering Processes in the pharmaceutical and medical sector to join our team as soon as possible (full-time, 40 hours per week, five-day week; remote work possible).

Your Responsibilities

Conduct international procurement

Planning and execution of needs-based, cost-efficient and compliant procurement of medicines, medical consumables and medical devices for LMICs (low- and middle-income countries) as well as in emergency and disaster situations.

Manage tendering and award procedures

Conducting requests for quotations (RfQs) as well as international tenders, including preparation of documents, obtaining and evaluating bids, and ensuring legally compliant and donor-compliant documentation (e.g. DG ECHO, German Federal Foreign Office).

Ensure supply chains and quality standards

Considering international supply chains, regulatory requirements and quality standards (e.g. GMP, GDP, MDR) in all procurement processes.

Strengthen local procurement

Supporting the development and implementation of quality-assured local procurement structures.

Make sourcing decisions

Assessing and deciding between local and international procurement, taking into account quality, lead times, costs, and risks.

Collaborate across departments

Close coordination with quality assurance, logistics, sales, medical technology and other relevant departments within the action medeor family.

Ensure documentation and reporting

Documenting all procurement processes and maintaining and analyzing relevant databases and monitoring systems.

Your Profile

Qualification

Completed commercial training/apprenticeship or a degree in business administration; a pharmaceutical or medical focus is an advantage.

Professional experience

At least 3 years of experience in international procurement, ideally within a humanitarian organization or NGO.

Expertise in health procurement

Understanding of procurement processes in the healthcare sector, particularly for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and equipment, including quality and regulatory requirements (e.g. GMP, GDP, MDR).

Tendering and donor experience

Experience with international tenders and donor-funded project requirements (e.g. DG ECHO, German Federal Foreign Office).

Strong communication skills

Confident and professional interaction with international suppliers and partners.

IT and analytical skills

Very good Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. Business Central) is an advantage.

Language skills

Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of French and German is an asset.
